2010 in Retrospect

This year has been ever so busy!  I feel like it's really flown by.  I am generally terrible at remembering the things that happened at the beginning of the year, but I am sure that the meat of this particular year was in the second half of it anyway, so perhaps I am not missing out on too much.

The big event this year was moving into my new flat with my girlfriend.  It was a really stressful move, with Kristy moving from London and looking for new jobs in Oxford, and Oxford housing being in high demand and being generally super expensive, but we did it, and we're here, and we're very happy with it all.  It's lovely to have a kitchen to ourselves at last so we can indulge in all our baking and cooking habits.  We both thought it would be quite hard to live together, with both of us being quite independant and our relationship being relatively young, but we thought it was better than continuing to spend our weekends on buses to and from each other, so we bit the bullet and did it, and it's actually worked out beautifully - we've adjusted to each other really well.  I thought I was going to be desperate for time alone, but actually, I've found that I just get very lonely when she goes out.  I'm a bit pathetic, really.  I try not to get too slushy on my blog, but I'm so happy: my girlfriend is amazing.  She's a really wonderful person who puts up with my weirdness, forgives me when I screw up, looks after me when I'm angry or ill, and is always on hand with something lovely to say when I've had a bad day.  I couldn't ask for more.  Oh, yeah, and she makes amazing cakes, too.
